K-Rose : Jerry Reed - Amos Moses

K Rose Amos Moses by Jerry Reed Lyrics: Well Amos Moses was a Cajun, He lived by himself in the swamp. He hunted alligators for a livin, He just knocked 'em in the head with a stump. The Louisiana law gonna get ya Amos It ain't legal hunting alligators down in the swamp, boy Well everybody blames his old man, For makin' him mean as a snake, When Amos Moses was a boy His daddy would use him for alligator bait. Tie a rope around his neck, and throw him in the swamp, Alligator bit him in a Louisiana bayou About 45 minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, Louisiana Lived a man named Doc Milsap and his pretty wife Hanna hey raised up a son who could eat up his weight in groceries, Named him after a man of the cloth, Called him Amos Moses Well, the folks around south Louisiana Said Amos was a hell of a man He could trap the biggest, the meanest alligator And just use one hand That's all he's got left cause an alligator bit him Left arm gone clean up to the elbow Well the sheriff caught wind that Amos Was in the swamp huntin' alligator skins So he snuck in the swamp, gonna getcha boy, But he never come out again. Well, I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to? You can sure get lost in a Louisiana bayou! About 45 minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, Louisiana Lived a man named Doc Milsap and his pretty wife Hanna They raised a son who could eat up his weight in groceries, Named him after a man of the cloth, Called him Amos Moses

Dolly& Ronnie-Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms (Live 1975)

Dolly Parton & Ronnie Milsap performing live in 1975 at The Grand Ole Opry for the very rare album "In Concert" This album is extremely rare. So rare it's not often listed on Dolly's list of albums even though she did live versions of this song along with Jolene, Love Is Like A Butterfly, Coat Of Many Colors and The Bargain Store. I stumbled across this a few months ago in a used record shop here in Nashville for 5 bucks and was very happy! Had been looking for it for years.

Back On My Mind

Stereo: www.youtube.com Buck Norris sings Ronnie Milsap. Ronnie Milsap was born in Robbinsville, NC, and was raised by his father and grandparents following his parents' divorce. He was born blind from congenital glaucoma, and when he was 5, he began attending the Governor Moorhead School for the Blind. At 7, his instructors noticed his extraordinary musical talents, and he began to study classical music formally. A single year after he began learning the violin, he was declared a virtuoso. He also mastered piano, guitar and a variety of other stringed instruments, as well as various woodwinds. Eventually, he became interested in rock 'n' roll and while still in school formed his first rock band, the Apparitions. He briefly attended college in Atlanta where he studied pre-law. Though he was awarded a comprehensive scholarship, he decided to become a full-time musician instead. His first professional gig was as a member of JJ Cale's band in the early '60s. In 1965, Milsap started his own band. Four years later, after having an R&B hit with "Never Had It So Good," he moved to Memphis to become a session musician. There he frequently worked for Chips Moman and can be heard playing keyboards on Elvis Presley's "Kentucky Rain" and singing harmony on "Don't Cry Daddy." When not doing session work, Milsap and his backing group were the house band at TJ's Club. In 1970, he had a pop hit with "Loving You Is a Natural Thing." Following its success, he released a self-titled debut ...
