Although born blind from congenital glaucoma, the extraor-dinarily talented Milsap was proficient on violin, piano, guitar and woodwinds from an early age. In the late-60s he moved to Mem-phis to work as a session musician (appearing on several Elvis Presley hits). In the early-70s he moved to Nashville becoming one of the major figures in Country music, developing a hybrid of Country ballads, R&B and pop that brought him a large audience. 20-20 Vision and Night Things spawned three US #1 hits: Daydreams about Night Things', What Goes On when the Sun Goes Down' and (I'm A) Stand By My Woman Man'. Milsap's ability to dramatize every nuance of the song, with his bittersweet, refined and intimate approach made him a genuine star. That string of hits began a remarkable run where Milsap didn't leave the Top Ten for 15 straight years. Fun things to do in Washington DC

Washington DC is one of my favorite cities to visit. I went there a dozen times, especially as an adult. I especially enjoy visiting the mall and the Smithsonian.

The mall is the exciting part of DC. It has the shape of a cross, with the Washington Monument in the center, the capital further north, the White House to the east, the Lincoln Memorial to the south, and the Jefferson Memorial, one west. Each of these buildings is beautifullydesigned in the style of Greek architecture. Some newer buildings have been added since, including the Korean and monuments of the Vietnam War and a large statue of Albert Einstein.

Smithsonian is a must for any visit I made to DC over the past 20 years. Home to several excellent museums, all free to the public, including the American History Museum, Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art, the Hirschhorn Museum and the Museum of the Holocaust. TheAmerican History Museum is my favorite of them. Seeing the museum usually requires two days because it is so huge. Air and Space Museum is excellent. The museum contains all the rockets and spacecraft, including spacecraft Apollo and Skylab and space shuttle. The National Gallery of Art houses a fine collection of European art and early American. Hirschhorn Museum has a fantastic collection of modern art, including several sculptures by Rodin, Degas and others. TheHolocaust Museum is excellent, although very disturbing.
