Five Essential Questions: Business Ethics

Ethics at the center of discussion and media coverage in the post-Enron and WorldCom scandal, the world economy burdened. Leadership is always a field of study for organizations of all types and sizes, receive more attention as a result of corporate and other forms of corruption (such as the recent events with Tom Delay in Congress and the "K Street" lobbyists Jack Abramoff and investigations others in Washington, DC). But when it comes to ethics-basedLeadership, while there is a growing volume of literature there are few precedents (at least those who still live and breathe, instead of) in the history books and biographies. Under these circumstances, where you can go for the "real world" guidelines when it comes to ethics-based leadership?

There are several important questions that policy makers at all levels and in any organization - be it a large or small companies, non-profit, government or the professions may be wonderingincluding:

- What would my mother say about ... (action, decision, behavior, ...)?

- What happens if this was my personal bank account (applies to both the revenue and expenditure)?

- How should I be treated in the same situation (is) for customers, clients, patients and staff?

- I would want this (action, decision, behavior, conversation, etc.) on the front page of the local (or regional, national or see) newspaper?

- When I make a promise, agreement or make"Engagement," I am ready to do everything in my power to do so (it's situational honesty is just another name) for a lie?

Simple? Perhaps. Realistic? Yes. Life change? Absolutely. When leaders of all professions, businesses and organizations, but these questions - and then acted upon them - would be ethics-based leadership that a scientific theory into a daily reality with remarkable results, not only for leaders, but also to shift customers, employees andInvestors.
